Uber has become an everyday utility, its service taken for granted. To show Uber's appreciation for and find a way to connect with its riders, we told a simple, yet personal story about how they moved in 2016.
A mobile-first experience was created; WebGL was used to turn riders' trip data into an engaging year-in-review experience.
A personalized calling card and 'Rider type' was dynamically generated in real-time for users to share on social media at the end of their experience.
The success of this pilot gave way to the following year's data-driven digital campaign; a technological feat that launched in 11 markets.
